Michael’s famed Libertango. After Piazzolla series were born as his tribute to his favourite Tango Nuevo composer Astor Piazzolla who Michael believes is a genius in contemporary music. Piazzolla was able to create a new world which encompasses emotional sphere of people to vast degree. Piazzolla’s is the world of life full of emotions, memories, thoughts, whispers and screams, laughs and tears, smiles and nostalgic thoughts, dreams and fantasies, all this done with superb sensitivity and taste. Michael believes that mankind is really lucky to have Piazzolla and his music. He tried to reflect on his understanding and reading Astor Piazzolla and his world in his Libertango collection. The core collection has been created by the artist in 2013, but yet before, and also thereafter he was and is creating more art works for this ongoing collection of works.
Libertango. After Piazzolla series has been very successfully exhibited internationally. Exhibitions were curated by Inna Rogatchi. The collection and its exhibition has been selected as the only solo exhibition at the official program of the International Culture Days in Zagare, Lithuania, in 2015. It was also exhibited in Finland, the UK, Italy, the USA and the other countries. Most of the works from the core collection now belong to many notable private collections in the USA, Canada, Italy, Austria, Italy, the UK, Lithuania, Israel, Russia and Finland.
