Romantic theme is the one of the essential ones in Michael Rogatchi’s ouevre. He is known as lyrical master. His works on romantic theme are distinctive by its warmth and gentleness. In portraying romantic relationships between people, an artist can be easily entrapped into banality or controversy. In fact, it is very difficult to keep a balance working on this theme of human emotions.
Michael addresses human relationships throughout his artistic career, and it can been seen in variety of his styles applied to these works, from bold asymmetry of dynamic panes to masterly created feast of softly toned colours, or modern developing of the traditional Italian fresco technique , but in Michael’s vision, doing it on canvas.
An essential message of the collection of Michael’s romantic paintings is rather simple: art telling on love is made with love.
And this love is transpiring from his canvases – as many viewers at numerous Michael’s exhibitions featuring his romantic collection had been saying: “It is a very special feeling, to be surrounded by love’.
